Christmas Memories!

I have had several memories today, and the past couple of days of my grandparents at Christmas time awhile I was growing up! One in-particular stands out in my mind! I was probably 7 or 8 years old. I, still to this day, like to look under people's trees at the different wrapped packages. But, as I was doing that, I found a gift box marked "to Cressie from Santa!" WEll....it wasn't quite Christmas day just yet, and I was ecstatic! I grabbed it up, and ran to the kitchen where Mamaw was, and I excitedly showed it to her! I was so delighted, that I just took the top of the package off! In the gift box was a Bible! (still the one she uses today!). And I said to her, "awww....Mamaw look....Santa brought you a brand new Bible!!! Bout' that time, Papaw walked into the house, and Mamaw was just standing there with her hand over her mouth, just laughing! (I never knew why..) Papaw was just furious with me. Of course I didn't understand that then, but I do know! I will never forget that moment. As I got older, it was an occasion we all three have always laughed at, every time it was brought up! Now that my Papaw isn't, I still think of it, and sweet it was to have gotten Mamaw a new Bible from "Santa!" I miss him! But I am so thankful of the fond memories we made! I hope everyone has great memories of Christmas times!
