My original plans were to work until this coming Friday, and have ALL loose ends at work tied together, make sure that I knew everything I could possibly know about things at work that needed to be known about, and get it all done. Well...this little boy I am carrying is demanding a difference in my plans.
My doctors appointment Monday went all too well, I think. I have already dialated (sp right?) to 2cm, & according to the doc., he felt the baby's head. Okay, so this is cool. After my most dreaded examination, Dr. Stitt stearnly looked me in the face, and says "If you don't go into labor before Friday, I want to see you back here Friday for another check, and at that point well make a time to put you in the hospital next week to have this baby!" (with a big smile on his face)....he says "he's ready!!!!! Are you?" My answer, was "Uh, well, no!"
So...needless to say, I have been in a VERY slow, high gear this week.
With all in mind, I am very thankful for:
1. All the things we have done and finished up for the arrival of the baby! :)
2. Finally getting the time with Nathan to pick out and purchase the baby's 'coming home outfit' !
3. FINALLY deciding on a name :) I wrote it down in the baby book people....it's final!
4. Nathan getting the nursery finished last night!
5. The precious baby book that my friend Tina gave to me last night. It is an Ann Geddess baby book for the first five years, and it's adorable!
6. Natalie, who's so sweet and helpful! Her comments and patience on this baby's arrival is amazing. Nathan and I told her the name we finally picked out last night. Natalie smiled so big, and says "Oh, so now he can come!!!!!" ha! So sweet!
7. Okay, this might sound weird, but, I am thankful for the contractions I have been having. I only had back contractions with Natalie, and they lasted all night, with no pattern, I wasn't aware I was in labor with her, until my water broke that a.m.. But, I have been having very irregular ones since late Monday night, and hopefully they will 'regulate' and give me some clue as to when he's coming! :) Not to mention, this means, it's very near the end of my pregnancy!
8. For my family! My Mom and Dad are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting, so is Nathans' parents. It's really neat being able to experience all the anxities with everyone of the upcoming birth. With my first labor, there was no warning...just that I was on the way to the hospital!
9. I am thankful for finally being ready for the baby to be here. His room is ready, he's got a name now, I have gotten most of the ol'e baby toys out, and ready for him, all his laundry is clean (cleaned with baby detergent), bassinet is ready. There's still a few minor things, but they can be done in time.
10. The electric blankets Nathan found on clearance the other day! They were a wonderful, VERY affordable price ! Very thankful for that!
