The small things in life!

I was doing so well blogging, .....but in February my health kinda took a turn for the worse.

I spent 8 days in the hospital in two weeks the begining of March, and last few days of Feb.
I got to where I couldn't hold anything down, was really dehydrated, and anemic. Had a cat scan, and a few other test run. My ulcers were bleeding, and it was just a really rough few weeks. I was forced to take on a liquid diet for about 3 weeks, as I couldn't even hold applesauce down. (I lost some weight !) lol. Anyhow....I'm doing MUCH MUCH better.

Started a regime of medications, (one of them being a bi-weekly infusion treatment to control the Ulcerative Colitis - called Remicade {also used for RA}). Seems to be doing wonders for me. I get the next one on the 21st of March. The first treatment caused a lot of edema in my feet/ankles...so I had to go on lasix, ....so now i pee ALL the time, lol. I feel like an old person...one med causes the need for another med. Really kinda unreal. But,.....I'm feeling better, so thats all that matters! :)

For Bradley's birthday we took him to Dinasour World (will post pictures later), and he really enjoyed that trip.
My Birthday ....we just went out to eat, and had great day of family time together.
On the 18th (my last real good day of feeling well) we took the kids to ya-ya's Island , a kids gym near where we live, and met the cousins, and grandparents there as well. It was a great day.
On he 21st of Feb. I took Bradley to the ENT, where we decided it was time have ear tubes put into his ears, he's kept an ear infection for the last 6 months. (I'd say it was over due) . Those were put in on the 5th of march, ....Nathan took him, as I was not able to make the trip...still recovering from coming out of the hospital at that point. But all went well.

Natalie's birthday was the 24th of Feb.....we are still in the midst of celebrting that day with her, as I was in the hospital that day. :( It was hard on me, but Nathan and my Mom made it a great day for her. As well, I sent her to school in a shirt that had "9" on it, (was a surprise to her) and had a big balloon and cupcakes taken by my mom to her school as well. Just wish it could have been me doing all the fun stuff....but I was just not able.

In the hospital I had Magnesium, Pottasium, Sodium-chloride, Iron, Ciproflaxin, Flaggyl, 4pints of hemoglobin again, and Solumedrol (steroid) all sent through IV. It was a busy week and a half in my hospital room, ....but I am ON THE MEND, and doing SO much better!

I love enjoying this weather, and able to enjoy it. Its really the small things in life that are easy to take for granted. Enjoy your good health!
