"Many are the plans in a human heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21

"He guides them to their desired haven." Psalm 107:30 Sometimes life demands that we weather a storm. At other times it puts us to the test of tedium. We may feel stuck. What we want most is just out of reach. But whether we find ourselves in a crisis of circumstance or in a place where the spiritual wind has been taken out of our sails, we need to trust God for guidance. The Lord, who is sovereign over changing cirumstances, will eventually guide us to our desired haven. "I will not fear the howling storms of doubt, Nor shudder when I feel I'm all alone; but I will trust my Savior as I shout: "The Lord's my helper- He is on the throne!". -Hess. God orders our stops as well as our steps. (the above is a devotional from the printed 'Our Daily Bread'. Nathan and I went to the visitation of a friend, church member, tonight. James Compton's funeral is tommorrow. I wish we could have known him longer, but we only knew him just a few short months. He took the precious pictures of Natalie, as well as several more, at the Trigg county Relay for life just a few short weeks ago, and gave them to the local radio station, who did in turn use them for their website. James had a great tallent in photography. The light he showed through to many people in his life will never be forgotten, in this picture his memory will always live for us! Depression took his life away from Earth as we know it, but like this verse explains, it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.
Today I am thankful for:
1. Another day on this Earth with those that I love.
2. My tape recorder. I started tape recording Natalie as soon as she could talk (very early...she was nine months old!!) I am so glad that I did. Tonight I tape recorded Nathan teaching her the verse John 3:16! Just adorable!
3. Tina keeping Natalie so that we could go to James' visitation.
4. The talk we had with our preacher.
5. My husband.
6. My family
7. Natalie asking me to tuck her in tonight. She's finally gotten to where she'll sleep in her own bed again, and Nathan usually tucks her in, cause she wines to go to bed with me. But tonight, she didn't. She told me to watch the beddy bugs, and don't let them bite!
8. Allowing Natalie to REALLY enjoy her brownie. (I made some, to take to the family of James Compton, kept a couple for Natalie and Nathan-naturally) and she loves to dip them in milk for some reason, which drives Nathan crazy. I simply asked him to get over it, and let her enjoy it, he didn't like it, but she did, and made such a mess. (yes, I cleaned it up, and her too!) {she's only going to be little once, right!}
9. Natalie's hugs!
10. Ice cold water!
